The Indo-Pacific Journal of Phenomenology is intended to provide scholars in the southern hemisphere with an avenue through which they can express their scholarship. The IPJP also serves as a networking opportunity for scholars in the region as they undertake their research. Similar avenues do exist in the Northern Hemisphere (Europe and North America). The IPJP is intended primarily as a forum for Southern African, Indian, Australian, Asian, New Zealand and Pacific Island scholars to discuss a broad range of phenomenological issues. However, contributions from the Northern Hemisphere will also be considered.
Welcome to the original, deadliest Irish Slang site, filling up - even as you read! - with colourful Slang in Ireland and Irish English, or Hiberno English as the academics call it; copied without credit by gurriers all over the web, but updated here regularly. While I'm the first to admit that it's by no means complete; fair's fair...it's a start.
I began writing poetry seriously in the early 1980s, mostly to celebrate family occasions. While on sabbatical during the academic year 1997-98, I decided to expand the feelings and experiences on which my poetry is based by starting a Web site that would invite visitors to request poems. The inspiration for many of the poems on Poems for Free comes from those requests. Eventually, there were so many requests that it became impossible even to open all of the email, and so I had to delete the invitation from the site. But the impetus for many of the poems on the site remains my desire to be a voice for those who want their thoughts and feelings turned into poetry.

This year the theme for Pride London is Come Out and Play, and we'll be updating you more on that precise meaning in the coming weeks, so keep checking back for regular updates! But with that as our title you can expect our annual LGBT Pride Parade to be a cavalcade of colour and fun through the streets of London. As usual will set off from Baker Street at 1pm and proceed down Oxford Street and Regent Street taking in some of the major sites of London as we swing round through Piccadilly to Trafalgar Square. Pride London was founded in March 2004, and was granted charitable status in July of that year. In its first year, Pride London attracted a little over 30,000 people to central London for a parade and campaign rally in Trafalgar Square. From this small beginning, Pride London has grown at a staggering rate into becoming one of the United Kingdom?s largest events, and the largest LGBT event that the United Kingdom has ever seen. In October 2008, Pride London applied to InterPride for WorldPride status. In a hotly contested competition with Stockholm Pride, Pride London won the bid process, and was awarded WorldPride status, with the WorldPride event scheduled for 2012. In 2009, Pride London grew once again, with over 1,000,000 people attending the event as participants or spectators. Pride London also re-launched its arts festival, and had over 80 events running in the two weeks prior to the main day. Highlights included a party-political debate with senior MPs from all parties attending, a twinning with the National Portrait Gallery for their Gay Icons exhibition, and a series of comedy events at the E4 Udderbelly on the South Bank. Pride London also announced its twinning with Outburst (UK), a national charitable organization that focuses on culture, education and performances, including the annual black LGBT Pride festival.
